HUMAN. WRITER. CREATIVE. CONSULTANTFor over two decades, Bill has written for film, television, theater, and the web with an ever-growing network of creative professionals who bring stories to life. Attachments to his projects have included executive producer Martin Scorsese and director Rodrigo Prieto on Bastard; director Stephanie Laing and actor Daisy Ridley on Toxic; and actors Ben Foster and Katherine Waterston on Floodplain.
His one-hour drama pilot, The New Kids, based on Brooke Hauser’s book about a high school for immigrant teens, was bought by Freeform. He wrote the screenplay for +1, a New York Times Critic’s Pick, and The Quitter, which The New York Times described as “a textured, heartfelt drama.
His debut as a writer/director came with his short film, One Year Down, which premiered at Aspen Shortsfest the same year he wrote, directed, and produced his stage musical, You Again — a Musical about Cloning, at the New York International Fringe Festival. His collaboration with director John Hyams (Alone) resulted in The Ignorant Bliss of Sun and Moon, a short film Bill adapted from his own short story.
As a story consultant, Bill works with individuals and organizations to clarify and communicate the most impactful version of their story, no matter the medium. Usually that involves helping people get their hearts onto their sleeves. In 2025, he founded Storytellers Social Club, dedicated to providing in-person community and opportunities for creative professionals across all storytelling disciplines.
Bill served as the Associate Director of Almanack Screenwriters for seven years, developing programs and mentoring emerging film and television writers. He has taught screenwriting at NYU Tisch’s Department of Dramatic Writing, Pratt Institute’s Film/Video Department, and Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Film and Animation.
Bill has also been an elevator man in Manhattan and the worst bartender ever in New Orleans. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his family and Percy, co-star of Walking the Dog & Writing Tips.
